On April 14th of 2015 Microsoft will roll out “Skype for business”, as an update to Lync client. Customers currently using Lync client via Office365 or Office 2013, will see it being replaced automatically through the regular monthly office updates.
The new client will feel more like Skype than Lync. However, the backbone will be Lync and not Skype as the name suggests.
